Το “Sinners” ηγείται των υποψηφιοτήτων για τα Όσκαρ 2026 με ρεκόρ 16 υποψηφιοτήτων, ανάμεσά τους για Καλύτερη Ταινία, Καλύτερη Σκηνοθεσία και Καλύτερο Πρωτότυπο Σενάριο.

Άλλες κορυφαίες υποψήφιες ταινίες είναι η One Battle After Another με 13 υποψηφιότητες και ακολουθούν οι Frankenstein, Marty Supreme και Sentimental Value με 9 υποψηφιότητες η καθεμία. Αξιοσημείωτο είναι το γεγονός πως ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος και η Bugonia του είναι υποψήφιοι για τέσσερα χρυσά αγαλματίδια.

Οι υποψηφιότητες ανακοινώθηκαν από τους Danielle Brooks και Lewis Pullman σε ζωντανή μετάδοση από το Samuel Goldwyn Theater της Ακαδημίας.

Φέτος προστέθηκε μια νέα κατηγορία: Καλύτερο Casting, η πρώτη από το 2002 μετά την εισαγωγή της κατηγορίας Καλύτερης Ταινίας Κινουμένων Σχεδίων. Ταινίες που προτάθηκαν για το casting περιλαμβάνουν τις: Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent και Sinners.

Τα φετινά Όσκαρ θα παρουσιάσει για δεύτερη συνεχόμενη χρονιά ο Conan O’Brien και η τελετή θα μεταδοθεί ζωντανά από το Dolby Theatre στο Λος Άντζελες, την Κυριακή 15 Μαρτίου 2026.
